Culture of Death Watch - From the "Which Side Won the Second World War?" File.

Deaf twins killed by Belgian doctors:
A pair of identical twins, who were born deaf, have been killed by Belgian doctors after seeking euthanasia when they found out they would also soon go blind.

In a unique case under the country's euthanasia laws, the 45-year-old brothers, from Antwerp, chose death as they were unable to bear the thought of never seeing one another again.
They were euthanised by doctors at Brussels University Hospital, in Jette, on December 14 by lethal injection after spending their entire lives together.

Euthanasia is legal under Belgian law if those making the decision can make their wishes clear and are suffering unbearable pain, according to a doctor's judgement.
The Belgian law differs from that of Switzerland, famous for its Dignitas clinic, where only 'assisted suicide' is permitted. This means patients must play an active role in the administration of the drug that ends their lives.

HOORAY FOR BELGUIM! PPL SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO CHOSE WHEN THEY LEAVE THIS WORLD! I so agree with this policy, although all death is sad, these two are out of pain.

I agree. They wanted to pass peacefully and were granted that right. I mean, we are NOT going to live forever. As an adult, I believe we should all be given that right. I know if I were dying from an uncurable disease, or terminally ill, I should have the right to end my life....Dr. Kevorkian had it right!

Who are any of us to say what is right or wrong? Each of us must make decisions for ourselves and those around us should respect that even if they do not agree. No one has the right to condone or condemn these men; they had a choice and they made it on their own. Too many people stick their nose into other peoples business and try to push their beliefs on everyone else. Our society is fixated on whatever everyone else is doing instead of focusing on improving themselves as people. I for one say, these men had the right to choose their fate and whether or not I agree... I do respect their choice.
