Holy Freakin' Mole...Serial killer by day, game show winner by night.

And not just any game show:

Rodney Alcala is a serial killer who is on death row in San Quentin for murdering five women in the 1970s, but who has subsequently admitted to 30 more murders. He is also under indictment in New York for even more murders, and is believed to be responsible for an astonishing 130 killings total across the U.S. And he looks like this:

But none of that is the reason he's on this list. No, Rodney Alcala will be forever remembered for one thing: In the middle of his murderous California rampage, Rodney Alcala was a contestant on The Dating Game. And he won.

Long story short - Cracked is becoming the go-to source for real information.

If you like this kind of thing.

Here is a live-time webcam for Abbey Road where you can watch Beatles fans jump into traffic to have their picture taken.

Great Moments in Public Speaking.

Via NRO.

Jonah Goldberg observes:

You love this guy’s enthusiasm? Mother of pearl. This dude is terrifying. If I read the speech, I’d be on board. But jeez, if there was a kitten on the platform, he’d kick it across the room just to hammer home his plan to reform the recycling procedures of the Stark County Treasurers’ office. Am I the only one reminded of this:
And this is from "The Office."

Pretty amazing video.

Internal closed circuit tv video from a ship in heavy seas.

Watching the tables and chairs slide across the floor made me sea sick.

Or so those scientists say.

Just joking.

I'm not really proud to admit that this is another reason I'm leaning toward Fred...

...but I really think he can keep this campaign promise.

Fresno - the Rodney Dangerfield of California counties.

A 6.5 square mile portion of Fresno County near Dos Palos became part of Merced County as of Jan. 1. It’s the first shift of any county boundary in the state since 1999 and the first change in Merced County’s territory since 1887.

Sneaky Mercedians.

Stealing our land like that.

We should have made them declare Los Banos a "free city."

Ha! They finally admit the truth.

Belgium is suffering an "identity" crisis. As one Flemish citizen says:

"With the best will in the world, you can not build a country on a shared taste for mussels, chips and beer - no matter how tasty."

No kidding. We've been saying for years that Belgium is a figment of our collective imagination.

You just know that nothing good can come from a story with a headline like "Party trick with rattlesnake backfires in a big way."

I'm still cringing.

The story goes like this:

Snake collector Matt Wilkinson of Portland grabbed a 20-inch rattler from the highway near Maupin, and three weeks later, to impress his ex-girlfriend, he stuck the serpent in his mouth.

He was soon near death with a swollen tongue that blocked his throat. Trauma doctors at the Oregon Health and Science University saved his life.

"You can assume alcohol was involved," he said. Actually, not just beer. It was something he called a "mixture of stupid stuff."

Ya' think?
