The Fallacy of Publicity.

Things that people hear about must be a problem since people are hearing about them. Therefore, if people don't hear about them, they aren't a problem.

Americans hear about "violence" of the Tea Party which gets reported even if it doesn't exist. On the other hand, the actual violence of the Occupy Movement gets ignored.
