Ah, college memories. I remember a spring day in 1980. The leaves were green, the sun was warm and the coeds were nubile. There I was with the College Republicans protesting Jane Fonda's appearance at UC Davis. If the wind had shifted, she would have been within produce range.
Anyhow, Jane Fonda was in Jerusalem and was greeted by the women in green. This part brings back fond memories:
Then Fonda and her entourage reach us --- and we turn around and begin our heckling:
"Hanoi Jane! Hanoi Jane! You are an American traitor! How many Americans were killed because of you? You are an American traitor and you came to Israel as a guest of Peace Now, Israeli traitors- You constantly identify with the enemies of the Western world. Once it was in Vietnam where you identified with those who murder Americans and now you came to identify with those Arabs who murder Jews. GO HOME! Shame on you! Shame!"
Michael Moore - who remains puzzled at why more Republicans weren't killed on 9/11 - inhabits a dark niche in my anti-pantheon. But let's face it, the Queen of Darkness will always be Jane, who never has had the class to admit that she was wrong - that the Communists did in fact kill millions after the Vietnam war - or to apologize for aiding the enemy.
