The Insufferable Bill Maher Expands on Things Beyond his Comprehension.
Maher is on the O'Reilly Factor and is calling George W. Bush a "draft dodger." When O'Reilly pointed out that Bush served in the National Guard, Maher explainst that was tantamount to cowardly copping out on military service.
Of course, this is nonsense. National Guard units were called up for service in Korea and Viet Nam. Moreover, there actually were draft dodgers during the Viet Nam War. They went to Canada and were treated as heroes by people like Maher. The ones who went to Viet Nam were viewed as something close to war criminals. Of course, our current war in Iraq is being described by these folks as a war crime, which would make our troops in Iraq war criminals. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Of course, they support our troops.
