Incidentally, Publius links to a comment at David Morrison's blog by a Frenchman who voted "Non", who corroborates Steyn's article. The commenter also explains that the debate over the "Christian roots of Europe" was far "... more heated in France than "elites" care to admit, as the increasing anti-Catholicism in France is met with a true renewal of faith (as always in France since the Revolution)."
