Update: Here is an essay on "The Mouse that Roared", in evil PDF format, where the "Duchy of Grand Fenwick" allusion was taken. When I read the book 30 years ago, I was particularly taken by this precis of Fenwickian foreign policy:
“We declare war on Monday, are vanquished by Tuesday, and are rehabilitated beyond our wildest dreams by Friday night"
Isn't it amazing that 50 years after "The Mouse that Roared" was written America is still following that approach to foreign policy?
