Jim Geraghty points out:
A stunning, yet accurate statement from Campaign Spot reader Tim: If Barack Obama serves a full term as president, it will be the longest time he has served in a full-time job. He spent about a year and change working for a financial publication in Manhattan, then three years as a community organizer, then three years in law school. After that, his time was divided among several jobs that were not quite full time — one year organizing voter registration drives for Project Vote!, associate attorney with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland, senior lecturer at University of Chicago Law School, and state legislator.
He's been a U.S. senator since January 4, 2005, and so it would be just over four years when he takes office January 20, 2009. Having said that, any honest observer would admit that Obama hasn't been treating his Senate seat as a full-time job for the past few years.Obama '08: He'll Get Bored Quickly Anyway.
I've taken to calling Obama an empty suit. I fear that's a fair characterization.
Certainly, we've all known those "wonder children" who effortlessly glide up a succession of jobs without ever really doing anything.
But there they are with no skills, but an unlimited opinion of their brilliance and talent.
The only real skill that these people seem to really have mastered is the chameleon like skill of sucking up to those higher and higher on the ladder and appearing to them as the "brilliant young man."
And we want that kind of guy as President?

That's a rhetorical question, right?
I sure hope it is.
In November, we could find out that the answer is "yes."
*Sigh*
Has anyone heard the rumor, too, that McCain's VP choice will be pro-life?
The term "Meteoric rise" is close enough to "The Peter Principle" to raise a justifiable element of concern. Of course if Obama is in fact an empty suit, which I agree that he has all the makings of one, then whom are his masters?
Hopefully, we won't have to find out whether he bores easily or not...
Just read that McCain chose pro-lifer, Sarah Palin as his running mate.
I've seen that Obama poster in your office!
Look closer.
That's a "NObama" sign.
:-)
I came over here to read about Palin. What's the hold-up?
