Writing up the Gianna Jessen post down below, I noticed on Google that there were a number of stories describing Ms. Jessen as a "claimed" or "self-proclaimed" "abortion survivor", as if her claim was in doubt. (In distinction to the media treatment of women who claim to be Catholic priests whose claims are never doubted.)
Jill Stanek collects two of the sites that used this tactic and notes the fact that both have been fored to retract their attempt to undercut Ms. Jessen's "authenticity." Ms. Stanek is the Chicago nurse who saw that a born-alive abortion survivor was left to die after surviving an abortion attempt, whose story played a role in the Illinois legislation opposed by Obama.

Gianna Jessen survived a botched saline abortion decades ago and now appears in a television commercial attacking Barack Obama for opposing a bill to protect newborns in similar situations. However, the mainstream media reporting on the ad has questioned Jessen's bona fides.
ABC News's Jake Tapper reported on the new ads and wrote that Jessen "says she survived an failed abortion" making it appear Jessen is making up the story. He said Jessen "claims" to have survived the abortion her 17-year-old mother had.
Politico's Jonathan Martin called into question the veracity of Jessen's story as well, by calling her a "self-proclaimed abortion-survivor."
Jill Stanek, the former Chicago-area nurse who exposed the practice of her hospital leaving infants who survive abortions to die without medical care, comments on the reporting on her blog.
"I suppose speculation is warranted," she said. "So in answer to that, here are documents proving Gianna is indeed an abortion survivor."
The first is Gianna's birth medical record (see below), indicating she was "Born during Saline abortion"...
Next is Gianna's birth certificate, listing infamous abortion practitioner "Edward C. Allred, M.D.," as the physician who delivered her after the abortion went awry.
"Finally there is an article written in April 1978, when Gianna was 10 months old," Stanek adds.
"She was entered as an exhibit of sorts under an alias in the murder trial of abortionist William Waddill, who stood accused of strangling another saline abortion survivor," Stanek explained.

God Bless her. She escaped their grip the first time; I've no doubt she'll triumph again.
The hypocrisy is amazing. This is a woman. You would think that the media, which blatantly promotes feminism and the so-called empowerment of women, would jump to her side.
Wait, we have a woman who is in the running for the Vice Presidency of the country. The same media moguls that were trumpeting the arrival of women to equality in politics when Hilary announced her candidacy have all apparently disappeared. Oh, that's right, they're too busy writing articles to defame Palin and hacking into her email account.
Makes sense.
