When grave-robbery was big business.

I've recently finished the Teaching Company's excellent series on Victorian Britain, which discussed how grave robbing - in order to supply medical schools with cadavers for anatomy clases - boomed and then met its counter-development in the use of "mortsafes."

Here are some examples of state of the art 19th century cadaver protecting technology.
