Because Commies always get a pass.

Next question.

Why is the international environmental movement silent about China's Nicaraguan canal?

I disagree with your assessment. Commies don't get a pass per se. These enviro organizations fund themselves by threatening organizations they can effectively fleece and those that they can use to get the believers worked up about in the U.S. and Europe. There's much less money in attacking China, so they focus on "more local" capitalists.

They will attack China (sorta indirectly) by attacking businesses that do business in China over working conditions and enviro issues. But's that because they can fleece the U.S. and European companies that are involved.

I guess after decades of abuse at the hands of the United States, the Nicaraguan's have turned to China on this one to rub it in our faces.
